President’s Letter

Dear HCVMA Members,

I hope this message finds you safe and well after the winter storm Enzo swept through Houston. It’s not often that we experience such extreme weather in our city, and I know many of you faced challenges personally and professionally. I commend everyone for their resilience and dedication to our community and patients during the storm. I hope you also got to enjoy the snow!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our first meeting of the year in January. Connecting in person and enjoying a great evening together despite the rain was wonderful. Your engagement and enthusiasm set the tone for an exciting and productive year ahead for HCVMA.

I am excited to invite you to our upcoming CE event, "We Only Have Eyes for You!" on February 13th. We are honored to welcome Dr. Mary Belle Glaze as our speaker. Dr. Glaze is a highly respected expert in her field, and I am confident that her ophthalmic medley presentation will provide valuable insights for all attendees. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand our knowledge and connect with colleagues, so I encourage you to join us.

Additionally, I want to highlight an important session at the upcoming TVMA Annual Conference that will be held in the Woodlands on March 27-28th. Our TVMA Liaison, Dr. Hallie Moore, has been working diligently on a session titled "The Care and Keeping of Your LVT," which will be held on Friday afternoon. This session will focus on LVT utilization and will conclude with a roundtable discussion where veterinarians can share concerns regarding LVT utilization, liability issues, and more. It promises to be an insightful and valuable discussion, and I encourage everyone to attend.

As a reminder, please take a moment to renew your HCVMA membership if you haven’t already. Your membership allows us to continue providing valuable resources, events, and networking opportunities. Also, don’t forget that Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) are welcome to join—please encourage your colleagues to get involved!

As always, I appreciate your continued support and participation in HCVMA. Your involvement strengthens our association and ensures we continue growing and thriving as a community. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions or give suggestions by emailing me personally at president@hcvma.org—I look forward to seeing you all on February 13th!

Best regards,
